Calling International Rescue!

No, not quite, or even my version of roadside assistance, but there are certain instances where a learner, or a driver, may need some fairly drastic help with their driving. The good news is that I specialise in this type of problem, and I will guarantee that I can help (FAB, in fact!).

Who will benefit from rescue lessons?

I believe that there are thousands of people out there who have taken driving lessons, struggled to get to grips with the skills of driving and perhaps failed their test at least once. Unfortunately most of these people have given up their dream of driving because they are told by their instructor 'You’re not cut out to be a driver' or they themselves think 'It’s my fault I’m just rubbish at driving'.

Well I think that on many occasions this can be due to inadequate instruction or an instructor who doesn’t have the skills to adapt their teaching / coaching to match the learning style of the individual learner.

I CAN AND DO!!

As an example, a few years ago a young lady started lessons with me after her friend who I taught recommended me to her. I asked on the first lesson if she had any driving experience, and to this she told me about the nightmare experiences she had with five previous instructors, each one telling her to give up because to coin a phrase 'You’re not cut out to be a driver'.

After the first two hour lesson with me she said she had learnt more in this session than she had in the previous 50 or so hours she had taken with the other instructors. I can honestly say that this lady was one of the best drivers I have ever taught. The main thing I did differently was to find out how she learnt best, which happened to be through detailed explanation and lots of demonstrations.

So who do you think wasn’t 'cut out to be a driver / instructor'.

If you are in a similar position, or currently taking learner lessons and feel that you are not progressing, have taken a few tests and have nearly given up, or even believe that you simply 'can't drive' I will work with you to overcome your problem. Just call for an informal chat, and remember, it's nothing to be embarrassed about!
